sauna is the best part of our week.

We're Sophie and Will. The heat, the cold water after, the people on the bench beside us, most of whom were strangers the first time. We wanted a hat that felt as good as all that. We couldn't find one we wanted to wear, so we made it.

Our hats are 100% wool, made by hand in the foothills of the Himalayas. The colour comes from plants and resin, set with alum, and every tag names its own dyes. Our dye house in Nepal is run by Shanti and her daughter Sara.

We make each design once, in a small numbered drop, and every hat gets its own number on the tag, written by hand. People on our list get 48 hours to buy before anyone else.

Drop 02 is löyl bloom: a bell-shaped hat with a tie dye look, in moss, lake, ember and flush. For this one we wanted colours we could name all the way down, so each is dyed with plants and resin from Shanti and Sara's dye house: himalayan rhubarb, turmeric, myrobalan, indigo plants and lac resin.

Yes, it's a wool hat in a 90°C room. You get used to the looks, and the person next to you will probably smile.
